For my English class, I have an assignment in which I can submit any kind of writing I had done. She is going to hand it over to a school club/organization that reads writings done by students and it could possibly get pusblished. I think she might grade it just to give us a test grade or soemthing...idk

I asked her if I can submit my college essay and she said yes. My fear is that if she asks us to turn it in at turnitin.com or that it gets published in the school end-of-the-year magazine for the arts, literature, etc., that I could get penalized from the university I initially wrote this for because the university might think i copied someone else's work.

is it safe to submit this

On another thread this week, we discussed whether a student could submit the same paper to two different instructors. The answer was a resounding “no,” unless both professors consented.

I’d say your situation is different. I don’t see any ethical or moral problems with you submitting your college essay in this case, as long as your English teacher is onboard.

With respect to your more practical question, I think you’ll be fine. Even if they come asking later, you’ll have your English teacher to back you up. Plus, I presume you’ve already submitted your college apps, so it would be strange to think your plagiarized something that came out AFTER your college essay showed up on their door!
