Can you use essays you’ve written for other things as your college application essays, if you just tweak it a bit. I’m writing my application essay for CMU’s precollege program and the prompt is very similar to there normal application. I assume it would be a bad idea to use the same essay for both CMU’s precollege program and there normal college application. Should I not waste a good essay on the precollege and save it for a real college essay?
Don’t send the same essay to the same school twice. I don’t know much about the precollege, but surely after it you will have plenty of time to write a better new essay?
Worry about pre-college now and college later. And, learn the difference between “there” and “their” before you write any essay for anything.
