Revealing Ethnicity on UC Prompts?

I am planning on writing about Chinese school for the UC prompt 2, but writing about Chinese school will reveal that I am Chinese (or at least asian). The UC's already have so many asians, so if they know that I am just another asian applying to the UC's, will it hurt my chances for admission in the UC's? Thanks.

I think UCs will know you are an asian even if you don’t write your essay on Chinese school..there is a section on the application asking for your ethnicity I think

No malice intended, but I think the school would know you’re Chinese just by looking at your name. I’m not familiar with the UC application form but I’d wager that they’d tell you to put that down.

Yeah, trust us, they’ll know. If your last name doesn’t show up, they’ll use your zip code and adjust.

Plus, you can put Chinese school under extra coursework on the activities page.

By law, the UC’s are not allowed to consider ethnicity in admissions decisions. So, write about what is most important to you. If Chinese school is a part of your world (prompt 1) or something you are proud of (prompt 2), write about it.
