what implications does having AP spanish credits give someone? i know it fulfills the foreign lang req right? does it apply to anything else, whether specific to revelle or even to UCSD in general?

do your research -- it's on the revelle website. scores matter, you need at least a 4 to be exempt from taking any more language classes

http://revelle.ucsd.edu/aa/ur/chart/ap.pdf

i know i've researched the website, but i'm not sure if i've found everything out, like i haven't seen concrete UCSD grad requirements overall
i was wondering if foreign lang plays a part in the overall req picture, like something every student needs to do, regardless of college?

thanks for the chart tho astrina

there are no "concrete UCSD grad requirements" other than the general writing and american history/institutions requirement. most students already fulfill these in high school.

to graduate, you need to do two things

complete (and pass) your college's GE requirements, through taking them or transferring credit from APs/JCs

complete (and pass) your major's course requirements. some of the lower-div requirements can be met through JCs (see ASSIST to check which classes transfer and are the equivalents of UCSD classes) but almost all the upper-div requirements need to be taken at UCSD.

sorry, didn't mean to pick on you specifically. i just get kind of tired of answering the same questions over and over when people refuse to search old threads or won't google the questions first before posting. four years of college will fix that.

so is there anything making revelle a top choice and better than any other colleges at ucsd?

it supposedly has the highest medical school acceptance rate at UCSD. But that just says something about the students themselves, not Revelle college. It's just more prestigious and better overall for premeds.
and I think you should definitely think twice about that Bioengineering: Premed major. First off, it's not even ABET accredited. Second, Bioengineering in general isn't really worth all the hard work because it's job opportunities are kinda limited. That's why Im going to change into a Biochem or Bio major once I get settled down at UCSD. and UCLA is now officially a university that I hate with great passion.

lmaoooooooooo i feel the same at ucla. damn that school! my dream, all my life all the work, doing all my essay this year in my UCLA pen, and they say no, DAMN THEM! well i just thought it would be an interesting major, plus im applying to med school, so why not just go with that major? what so difficult, special, or something about it, i know very little about it so i dunno. what is ABET accredited, and how is it now, i dont get it? what will make it harder than a bio major or such?

xxfly4lyfxx go and spend some time in the engineering forums and ask questions. Also use the search forum application in the upper right hand corner of CC. A good GPA for most engineers is a 3.2. It's a tough major. It's true about jobs for biomedical/biological engineering. A good friend's son is about to graduate from USC and he is having a tough time in the job search. Unfortunatley his GPA is too low for medical school.

UCSD is socially dead big time!!!! Besides drinking every week with your friends and going to movies and eating out once in a while....sucks here......u cant go clubbing cuz you have to be 21 in over....there is nothing compare to LA...like big diverse cities....however you do have the beach.....i guess you have to be smart and know how to have fun.....lucky me...i go back home every weekend back to LA. oh yea lots of people leave during weekends......um its a good school....but not that fun....

how is this true, this is completely contradictory to what others have said. i know others leave, but this is by the beach it sounds awesome!

there will be enough people who stay on campus during the weekend .... not everyone's from SD or the OC

when should i registar for housing for revelle? wait now or until i get decision from cal?

read the housing thing again -- what does it say about NOT having to wait until you accept the admissions offer?

ok, basically there was nothing to registering, just clicking a button and confirming data? thats all i guess i submitted that

so who else is going to be joining me at revelle in fall

i guess i am.

cool. 2 so far...

I'm 85-90% sure I'll be at Revelle too! YEEHAW!

I have to, I guess since Berkeley only admitted for the spring semester. (plus, its a bit far from home). So count me in as well! Its going to be awesome!!

awesome guys thats 4 i think!
