Revelle dorms - need to pick single to get a double?

So my actual preferences are:

double > single > triple

However, is it true that I need to ask for a single in order to get a double (and not be stuck with a triple)? But I don't want to ACTUALLY get a single.

Do I have a good chance of getting a double by choosing that? Or will I more likely be stuck with a triple?

no, no, no...don't ask for a single if you don't want it! just ask for a double.

student113, I'm in the same dilemma...except for the ERC dorms. I really really don't want to be in a triple, but I would prefer a double to a single.

16399, wouldn't asking for a single at least guarantee you for a double?

at least you guys can get a double....i'm in marshall and they only have singles and triples..

I'm going into Warren and I got a brochure that stated that if I applied for a single, I would be put into a random drawing. The drawings are most likely going to be held pretty late, when most of the doubles have already been signed up for, so I think it's more likely that you'll go into the triples if you don't make the single.

can anybody who's actually a current Revelle student tell us something?

Your best best would probably to send in your housing info asap.

asking for a single WILL NOT guarantee you at least a double. i personally asked for a single and got a triple!

don't ask for something you don't want...you might just get it.
