i'm an incoming revelle student in the fall, and i was wondering what my chances are of getting a single dorm, as opposed to a double or triple. what are the chances? and does filling out the application & SIR early help the cause?

also any information regarding the revelle dorms (like convenience, amenities, size, etc.) would be helpful. thanks :)

The revelle dorms are quite awful. I live in the fleets (overflow from other colleges) but I have been to the main halls and they are similar. The main halls have dreary cement walls (like Muir!), and if you are in Argo you can use an elevator that smells like vomit during the weekends. But the closets are rather large, and the rooms are decently sized (for doubles) as long as you are tidy.

As far amenities...err.. amenities? This isn't a hotel. But there are some piano rooms, and we are not too far from main gym (which isn't really the main gym anymore). The revelle housing is also conveniently located right next to CLICS, a "library" consisting of a floor and a half of computers (PCs and Macs) and quite a bit of studying room though it is noisy.

Oh, and the food sucks. It really is the worst food on campus (though there is a very good salad bar)

It's college, all the dorms suck for the most part unless you have erc.
But your life will really just revolve around your room and your suite lounge so don't even trip.

Revelle food does suck the most though. Damn burrito bar and mexican food all the time *** is that.
