Revelle

I heard from a friend who heard from her relative that the Revelle classes of UCSD is really hard and you should do your best to avoid that campus. Of course I'm taking this advice with a pinch of salt but I do want to know how much of this is true and what the opinions are of people who attend this school.

I'm going to be in Revelle. I don't really think there are any colleges you should avoid. Some may be more time consuming (more GEs), but basically, if you put in the time, you'll get good results.

thirdhand advice, eh? you should know better than to trust that :P

there's nothing that's specifically a "revelle" class except for the honors seminar and the hum sequence. all the other GEs are shared with the rest of the school. and if you do your research, you can easily skip out of hum through a JC. nothing to fear!

Take your friend's advice with a grain of salt like you said you did. I'm going to be in Revelle and I'm not afraid at all.

Also, depending on what your major is, some of the GEs will overlap with your major requirements.

There's plenty to consider when picking a college but as far as Revelle goes, I think you'd find nicer reshalls at the other colleges. Also, they have "highly structured" GEs so if you want more control over your education, another college (like Muir, Marshall, or Warren) might be a better fit for you.

If you got some kind of science major, revelle is your college. This is because lower division courses for many science majors overlap with revelle GE requirements like someone previously said.

If you are a science major and DIDNT go to revelle, that would perhaps be the worst move.

kkiiji, that comment is soooo ridiculously wrong.

agreed. kkiiji, i had friends in chemistry from ALL the colleges. revelle might have been slightly more represented than the other colleges, but by no means is it the best.

In the most basic terms, if you don't want to be forced to take calculus and a foreign language (or show proficiency in one) , Revelle is not the place for you.

Well I mean as a transfer student at least, I find that lower division courses for biology almost completely overlaps with IGETC plus, which is the extra GEs I have to do to get into revelle.

Maybe for non-transfer students it's different?

Speaking of Revelle did anyone get a chance to meet their counselor?
