Reverse/ Double Transfer

Hi, I'm a person in desperate need of some advice right now. Im contemplating about transferring from a private four year college to a community college then eventually back to a four year college. I have a decent gpa (3.27), it is just that I am soooooo unhappy at my current school to a point where I didn't want to come after spring break but made my self so that I wouldn't have to repeat the classes. My school has a weird curriculum and Ive always heard stories of how "some guy transfer out as junior and had to start over as a freshmen". I know that this could be an exaggeration but there is some truth to it.
I have considered staying at my current school but I have a strong desire not to return this fall and would have to empty my savings and work extra hours to afford it this year and find some miracle to afford it next year. I mean it is possible but I'm not sure about working my butt of to go to a school I strongly dislike.
I guess I could be a big guy a suck it up and stay here, but I feel that my dissatisfaction (or the more difficult course work) is affecting my gpa. I want to eventually go to med/grad school and I know that I will need a good gpa. And I'm not sure if transferring twice would look bad on grad school apps.
I've always wanted to go to California. Maybe I could enroll in Santa Monica College and then transfer to one of the UCs, if that can work. I plan in losing some credit anyways so I think that enrolling in a community college would make me competitive to California schools. I'm an oos with substantial financial need and wondering if the UCs would be feasible.
My freshmen year was so so and I decide to give this school another shot sophomore year. Now I regret not leaving this place earlier. This last year has been horrible. But I dont see why 1 bad year has to turn into two more.
Does anyone have any advice? I know I've sort of put it all out there but I want people to understand my situation and offer the best advice.

Sorry about the long post.

If you’re OOS and need financial aid UCs are not feasible.
