Reverse Racism?/Redheads

Umm...since i'm too lazy to type out a full explanation of what I'm trying to say..I'll just make this short...

As a minority, I feel like white people get a lot of **** sometimes...if anyone gets what I mean? Some certain people i know of always assume white people are racist...

And I've also noticed (happened today) that people are kinda "racist" (for the lack of a better word) or well, discriminatory towards Redheads them always calling them ugly, making fun of them and whatnot (e.g. 'ginger').

Just my observations .

are you serious? Redheads= ugly? lol I’ve noticed Redheads get the most compliments (and they should); nearly all the redheads I’ve met are beautiful and nice.

^ Idk…i think redheads are beautiful too. But i guess it could be just my school…lol.

I’ve noticed the redhead thing too, but it’s usually just a joke when I hear it. People aren’t too malicious about it.

I never thought as “ginger” as a derogatory term since most redheads here profess themselves as gingers for life <3.

But yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly. And thank goodness for not posting something about that new awful M.I.A. music video.

How would that be reverse racism? Racism is not only directed towards minority groups.

I often hear ‘ginger’ used as a pet name. But then again, I do live in the South…

Just a little super-PC, anti-racist thing of mine: On account of the connotations of the words “forward” and “reverse,” the phrase “reverse racism,” as used in this thread, is offensive as it implies that there is a ‘correct’ direction for racism/discrimination and that it is against minorities.

“Ginger” is usually not considered derogatory nor a slur. Besides that, generally, in race confrontations, whites are in the position of power, making discrimination against them very different, and race is generally a less salient fact to whites, again, making the discrimination very different. I’m not one of those who holds that there is no such thing as racism against whites – indeed, I consider that view small-minded – but it is important to recognize the context of discrimination to understand its severity.

Well… most of the people that I see with red hair look fabulous… well maybe not all…
I’ve read a news that [Danish sperm bank no longer takes donations from redheads](<a href=“العاب شطرنج”>العاب شطرنج)… Honestly I really don’t get the reason why they are not allowed to donate… I hate discrimination most especially when it really hurts other…

I’m not against white people at all, but I feel that a lot of them give Asians a lot of crap these days. In school, I always hear the athletes/jocks making racist remarks about Asians, about how they study all day and have no lives. I have also seen a lot of white people being racist against other whites (I’ve heard a lot of racist comments about Italians).

That being said, I think that traditional Asian [parents] are very racist as well. My grandparents openly told me to never marry or date an Indian woman because she’ll be smelly.

Maybe if you read the story correctly you would have noticed that it’s not the sperm bank which has suddenly decided to stop taking donations from redheads, it’s that the bank has recognised that there is simply no demand for spem coming from redheads.

This isn’t the sperm banks fault, if you wanted to blame anyone for ‘discrimination’ blame the people seeking sperm donations who don’t wish to have a red headed child. That would be pretty stupid too though, It’s simply a case of red heads not being the perference for people who want to have kids.

But what if they do study all day and don’t really have much of a life outside of study, is it still crude to make such remarks?

christina hendricks, nuff said.

Remember that November 21st is kick a ginger day.

I don’t think this thread is going to end well :|

Ellie Kemper, the ultimate ‘cute’ redhead. The things I’d do with her…

Who’s traditional, who isn’t? Such sweeping generalizations and labels about people, such as yours, are at the root of racism.

So I feel like this thread needs the “perspective” of somebody who’s an actual ginger.

I do get my fair share of ginger jokes, but they aren’t mean. They’re playful and supposed to be funny. Nobody has actually ever called me ugly. Usually I get compliments (but I’m not trying to brag or anything) on my hair, freckles, and general… ginger-ness.

That’s good, although I refrain from both making and partaking in jokes concerning one’s appearance.

Such jokes may be interpreted differently by different people, and I find no humor or need in pointing out the obvious - we all look different from one another.:)

Let’s add my red-haired opinion! I’ve gotten a lot of ginger jokes directed at me and they don’t really bother me. It just gets annoying after hearing it so long. Seriously get some new material. And I get a lot o compliments on my hair, but usually from and elder generation who use boxes for their haircolor. I’m glad I’m a ginger. I get unique hair while you get stuck with your bland blondes and brunettes. :p

I agree with Dan2014, I’m a redhead and I am fine with “ginger” jokes, (I even make them sometimes), and I am CONSTANTLY being complimented on my hair by the elderly which I find very cute especially since they always use the same compliment. haha I also like that it is unique.

There is no such thing as “reverse racism”. Racism against whites is discriminating based on race which makes it racism. Sorry, you just hit a pet peeve of mine.
