Reverse transferring - help?

I’m scheduled to transfer BACK to my original community college after this semester is over, and I have a few questions…

What happens if I have an F on my transcript? I know it looks horrendous, but is just technically a throwaway grade then essentially because only classes with C’s and above will actually transfer into the community college? I, without question, will not be returning to this university (I’m going to get my degree at the community college, then go from there).
I had a 3.25 at the community college, and I will start with THAT GPA when I get there (aka, picked up right where I left off).

What happens to that F on my transcript then? Is it just a throwaway grade then? Or will it somehow come back and bite me in the ass? Like I said, I do NOT plan on attending a university at any point in the future.

Thanks

You need to contact your CC about this. Usually only courses with grades of C or higher are accepted for transfer credit, and usually only those courses accepted for transfer credit are included in the final transcript.

If/When you apply to transfer to a 4-year college/university after finishing up at the CC, you will need to have the transcript from this university sent as well as the CC’s transcript. But if you have a good GPA overall, one F is not likely to ruin your life.

That’s the thing though - I’m not going back to a university. I’m going transfer to the community college and obtain my degree there, then get a job. Idk if that matters though

You need to ask at your CC about the F. Usually credits are transferred, but not grades, and only courses taken at a particular CC would be calculated in your graduation GPA for that CC. So if that is the case at your CC, this F will not affect your GPA.

If you ever apply for a job that requires all of your transcripts, or if you decide to continue your education in the future, then people will see your F. But it probably won’t be a big deal at all because it will be one ancient F far in your past. Your newer grades and your work experience (for a job application) will matter a lot more.
