Review Admit-- Chances?

I am currently on step 3 of my application (have been since October 18) and still havent moved to step 4. How much longer until I hear back.

Is this enough to get again? A&M is the only school I want to go to and only school I applied to...

99.9% sure you’re in, if you don’t get accepted I would be extremely surprised.

You were so close to automatic academic admit. Any chance you can move up 3% in your ranking by the end of Fall semester? Have you attended any of the A&M prospective student activities on campus or been in contact with a regional prospective student office?

I think your stats are very strong though. It seems like most review candidates usually don’t hear until after the first of the year of their acceptance. You are still very early in the process.

I haven’t been able to attend aggieland saturday or whoopin weekend or other events like those due to my busy schedule, but I did visit the Houston regional PSC in early August

And as to moving up 3 %, I highly doubt it because of how competitive my high school is. The last time the rankings came out, I was ranked 26.9 % and I worked very hard and my GPA went UP but my class rank still dropped to 28.8 % in the most recent rankings

it is very hard to move up in the class rank after your Jr year. Drop out rates decrease the class size and you move down in the rankings.

You probably have a better chance than I do. My resume is also pretty loaded, and I’m currently top 11% (45/404) but my GPA is a 3.36 and I got a 1740 on my last SAT (520 Math 620 Reading 630 Writing) so I’m very nervous. A&M is also my first and pretty much only choice.

I know a classmate just got accepted to Texas A&M(Fall 2011 Mechanical Engineering) as a review admit. He attends a nonranking private Texas high school, but A&M admissions placed him in the 2nd quartile by looking at his school profile and transcript. He scored 800 on SAT Math(Total SAT 2210/1460). He did have two SAT II subject tests Math II 800 and Physics 800.

I do think you will be admitted. You sound like the type of student A&M wants

Please tell me my chances A&M

you have pretty much the same stats as my brother did in terms of academics and he got accepted in February of 08 and you also have better extracurriculars than him, so if things work like theyre supposed to, then i would say youre in.
