Hey
I was just wondering what anybody out there thinks of LMU (Loyola Marymount)?
Is it a good school?
Anything you know would be much appreciated

jesuit school in LA.

thats all i really know. their film department is supposedly quite strong (which it should be, they are in LA!)

bump anyone?

It's okay. If you live in CA you are better off at a UC. I think you will get the same quality of education (probably even better) at a UC for a lot cheaper.

It has a generally nice campus close to Santa Monica/LA but not extremely close -- you would probably want a car.

I know people who go there for film studies, but that's about it.

Living in/around L.A. I am definitely not wowed by it or the kids from my school that end up going there.

I always say that you must be a UCLA or USC reject to end up at LMU, but that's just me being mean.

I honestly don't think the school is worth the extra money, unless your family is very well off and wants to send you to a private school.

I think there are much better bargains with the UC's like others have mentioned. If you're financially NEEDy, there's more schools like Occidental and the Claremonts that will offer better financial aid then could ever LMU.
