I've been that status for about a month now for science. I think we won't find out until end of March, but it seems like you're well qualified for arts. Good luck!

^I found out a couple of days ago, like 2.5 weeks after they got my semester grades. But I was put on this status like 7 weeks ago, before my semester even ended.

damn...I just got that status today . So I am def not finding out till the end of March!

Ahhh! still in admissions purgatory!!! Still at "Further review required". No Heaven of admission and no Hell of "Decision Pending" just suffering the torture of waiting!

^ dont worry...esp if you applied to arts and sciences.
i dont know your stats, but try not to worry too much especially if you just applied to a single faculty. i mean, i got into arts with not-extremely-high stats, so im sure you can too. and you arent alone, there's a kid at my school who still hasnt heard and the other five of us heard towards the beginning of last month. i think its just random and especially if you submitted midyear greades at a peak time, youll just have to wait a little long since i think the system is random for them to get to it. good luck :)

omg my status has been decision pending for weeks too! i'm so glad i found this thread, i am in desperate need of some information. i am freaking out so much i actually lost sleep tonight. which explains why i'm up at 5 in the morning posting this. i applied to Arts december 20-something. a friend of mine got into Arts already but she applied early in the fall last year so maybe that's why? i don't have awesome SAT scores, but overall my stats are a bit better than hers so i hope i have a chance!

cumulative GPA: 3.7uw
SAT I: 2000 (superscored)
SAT II's: US Hist 690 Biology 660
8 AP's in total by end of this school year
taken four of them already, all 5's

and i just read on another thread that decision pending = waitlist??? ahh someone help :(

well don't worry, you're not alone!

Decision pending does not equal waitlist. If you read the help section for the page that says your admission info then you'll see that they're different. I think it means that they're just reviewing everyones applications to make a final decision. My guess is that it's more like being deferred.

I'm still hoping that a miracle will occur and I'll get in :S

I posted this on another forum but no one seems to be replying so I'm hoping someone here will, it's about SAT scores:

does McGill superscore your SAT? I hope they do :S i did fine on CR and M for my first one (high 600s) but low (610) on W. then on my second one i completely bombed CR and M (both low 600s) but got a 700 for W. if they superscore it, it'll be 2000, but are those CW and M scores going to drastically affect everything? Especially when my second SAT was so bad it actually dipped to 1890 or something :S

Yeah...what's the "cut off" or average SAT scores? And do they look at your counselor recs?

Am I really borderline here??? Just wondering...so I know what to expect...

i'd say you're borderline on the SATs. according to the mcgill website their mean scores are around 690 for all 3 sections. however, people get in with lesser scores all the time. cut-offs are lower than your scores though, i believe they're under 600. i don't know about superscoring, it's not mentioned anywhere on the mcgill website. you could call them if you really wanted to know... your GPA's fine though. good luck :D
edit oh... you applied to arts? i think you have a better chance then

is arts harder to get into than agriculture & environmental sciences? I got into the faculty of agriculture & environmental sciences right away but i got decision pending for the faculty of arts. My scores are pretty low though, 1920 on SAT and 3.5 uw gpa, but i guess it would be more like 3.7ish without freshman grades.

yeah, significantly harder.

I'm pretty sure A&ES is the easiest by far of all McGill faculties.

I've been in that status for a week now, for the arts program...
I'm an internation student with a french BAC, which means i could be waiting til may...
They haven't reviewed my application for the faculty of education...
I'm so sick of waiting!!!!

I've been like this for over a month! Still waiting for management and arts! Grrrrrrrrrr

I am going to share my personal experience with the hope that it will be comforting to some of you. I am an American student and I applied to Arts some time in October. My stats are as follows GPA - 3.74, SAT - 2130. About two weeks ago my status changed to reviewed decision pending, and a day later I was accepted. I know that may be frustrating to hear for a lot of you but the comfort that can be derived from it is that DECISION PENDING IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING WAIT LISTED.

A friend at my school, like many posters here, has had a status of decision pending for several weeks. His GPA is 3.9 and his SATs are 2090, so overall he seems to be a better applicant than me. So why is he waiting and I'm in? I think the answer may simply lay in the huge number of applications McGill receives. The review of his (or yours) may simply have been started and then delayed without any rhyme or reason.

I understand how frustraiting it is to have to wait, but I hope his and my stories are even slightly soothing. Keep your collective chins up. McGill is a very competitive school and applying there almost guarantees that you will end up at a good school, even if its not you first choice.

Best of luck to you all.

Aw, thanks. Doesn't really help though haha :)
Maybe if I woulda applied earlier I would have heard already? Whatever, too later...
