But it looks like everything for you is well above average besides that one score. I think you have a good shot.

@sspdsk8a, Yeah I saw your post about the private school you went to through sophomore year. Even with that GPA though, I would say that you should get in. Not positive, but I think you meet every requirement and then you have some stats well above what they are looking for. I would stay confident because I think you’ve got a really good shot. Me on the other hand, the CR score may be my downfall. I have everything else a decent margin above what they are asking for. Though I am applying to two very competitive faculties.

@kyle76 are you subscribed to this forum? If so there’s no need for us to tag each other.
Well I hope you’re right. Is it true that arts has a ~3.5 average for admission? It’s really the reason I applied there but it’s starting to look more and more attractive in comparison with management. I don’t think you need to stress too much over that reading score because I think the other guy had lower stats than you in general and the same CR score. Let’s be real. It’s engineering. Thay dun’t kno how to spellings only gud at maths. You’ll be fine man.
Which other faculty did you apply to?

Yes I am, so we’ll stop tagging haha. I’m not really sure about the arts actually. And yeah that’s true. I’m really not a bad English student at all either…it’s just critical reading. My vocabulary isn’t bad, and I’m a decent writer. But hopefully they will look past my horrendous critical reading abilities!

I applied to the Faculty of Sciences also.

Yea that’s what I’m hoping too. And my faculties actually care about English… I found the other engineering guy in one of the big threads and his stats were definitely lower than yours.

Yeah that was the guy with the 590 CR and like 760 math score right? He gave me so much confidence that I have a shot. But your English score isn’t bad. It’s probably pretty close to what they are looking for.

I mean I’m seeing people with lower scores getting into arts and management. I’m just wondering what is the holdup because there’s so much at stake and there’s always the chance that I don’t get in. Maybe those sophomore year grades…
But yeah definitely don’t lose hope. How many times have you taken the SAT?

yeah, I really wouldn’t worry too much if I were you. There’s no reason you shouldn’t get in.
I’ve taken the SAT twice, but I’m beginning to regret not taking it one last time for the sake of my reading score.

You could go for it once more in case you need a reconsideration letter.

Nah, I’m done haha. And if they don’t want me at first then screw them, I’ll go somewhere else.

Fair enough. You could attempt a transfer next year.

Anyone have an idea of when they’re going to get back to us?

Should be within the next couple of weeks but no guarantees apparently.

That’s true too. And yes, it says on the website up until March 26.

@sspdsk8a, have you heard back yet? I’m still waiting…

Same here man. I’m trying not to think about it as I’m currently at national championships but ■■■■ I think I’m more nervous about McGill.

Oh good luck man. Don’t even think about McGill right now.

Alright well now that’s over. Have you heard back?

still haven’t heard. praying its within the next 3 days.

I feel ya man. This wait is awful. When did you finish getting all your docs in?
