Does anyone know the revisit dates for BS? I am not too ambitious but just try to plan spring break activities.

Thanks.

Does anyone know the revisit dates for BS? I am not too ambitious but just try to plan spring break activities.

Thanks.

I believe Lawrenceville is 4/4 and 4/5 and Andover is between 4/3 and 4/8.

Some schools have them posted on their calendars. Generally the beginning of April through 4/9 with decisions due 4/10.

I wonder if all the schools have an agreement no what day they’d do them… I’d hope I could visit all 5 on revisit days.

Many schools have multiple days to accommodate all the prospective students. 5 sounds like a lot of schools to revisit - you might want to trim your list before then. Maybe people do revisit that many - I am new to this, so not sure what people do. Most people I know have visited 2-3.

So… What if you have a conflict or the re-visit dates? Are there options for other days?

You would have to call the admission offices and they would tell you your options if you can’t make the revisit days.

PxAlaska: Why are you planning on five revisit days if you dont even know if you will get in?

just wondering, I am hesitant to plan anything about revisits until march 9th.

You want to block the dates since they are generally close to each other even if you haven’t gotten your letters yet. However, one thing is certain–they will all fall between March 10th and April 10th. And also, revisits really make the difference. This time, you are interviewing THEM. You also see classes (possibly for the first time). Some schools have more than one revisit date. Take notes after, so you can compare. “Last look” is often an advantage. Some schools definitely know how to market themselves–smiling, friendly students, balloons, amazing food.

@preplovr22 I’m not planning, but I’m thinking. There’s a chance I’ll have 0 acceptances and a chance that I’ll have 5 acceptances. If 0, then I have no worries. But if it’s 5, I’m curious to know if they overlap. I haven’t done my research yet.

yeah, ithin this time it will be correct

My spring break is the week before most revisit days… I do not think i will be able to attend… Could I go to the school for a visit during my spring break even though not official revisit?

I’m sure a school can try to accommodate you. Give em’ a ring

What actually happens at re-visit days? Do the kids just shadow someone? Is it a formal thing… Any info would be appreciated.

Lots of good info on re-visit with multiple perspectives on what they offer and how done can be found on the 2011 re-visit thread. The posts are not really outdated, by any means.

From what I heard, revisit days provide the opportunity for parents and prospective child to have a better feel of the school. What you are to do during the revisit may vary. But in general, it is geared toward giving you better ideas on the school life.

When you first visit the school for campus visit and interview, it is likely that your feel could be very limited, either because you are preoccupied, time is very short, or you are pretty nervous. In that sense, you can learn more in a more relaxed mindset, as it is you that has a say, not the schools.

When you receive an acceptance letter from the schools, they will let you know the dates for the revisit days and if you receive multiple acceptance letters, you may be able to work it out. Many schools offer multiple dates, some schools provide only one date.

Schools like Thacher would like you to come and sleep over during weekends. (Usually schools with a small student body do so, as they have enough beds in their dorms)

It is strongly recommended that we take full advantage of revisit days, as the impression before and after it could be very different from the first visit. Your child is supposed to spend 3-4 years at the school and it would be better to utilize it every possible way. Even if you receive only one acceptance letter, you would still want to go- your child can be mentally better prepared for the school life, or you may not have to waste 200k for the forthcoming 4 years if the school turns out to be NOT what you dreamed of!

I wish everyone here will get into the ‘delightful pain’ of scheduling diffferent revisits after M10! Good luck to all of us!

SO . general speaking… (I apologize if this ends up being a duplicate…but my other post just disappeared!)… anyway, would you receommend going if you are already 90% decided on a school? (the other 10% not going away at all…). Is it advisable to make the effort to go? I thought it might be good to see the school again when the pressure is off and maybe to meet some future classmates?
