Revisited: Anyone get a letter?

As Calidan mentioned in his previous posts, he received a letter from the FFL. I do believe another round of letters are being sent; I received one from the president of the university, detailing out Georgetown's Mock Trial Team and opportunities in the the nation's capitol for prospective law students.

So, the question is: anyone else get a letter?

I got another letter today! It congratulated me on my musical talents, and then went on to describe various ECs and other programs at Georgetown that deal with the fine arts. It was very nice.

I guess they're sending out letters that relate to your extracurricular activities.

PS- it's "FLL." :p I'm weird about spelling.

Calidan:

What does FLL stand for?

Faculty of ........ Language?

I thought it was "Foreign" but that's wrong.

Yeah I got one of these letters. It complimented me for playing football and still maintaining academic excellence. It's neat how they tailored each letter to fit the person's interests or activities.

I got mine today. It said they were "particularly impressed" w/ my music talents, and they outlined the music program. Calidan, sounds like we got the same letter.

They're just trying to keep the good ones who might get snatched by an Ivy here and there.

FLL = Faculty of Languages and Linguistics :)

I got the same letter, except they were "particularly impressed" with my involvement in the Model UN, and encouraged me to look into the International Relations Club.

i got the same letter, except they were "particularly impressed" with my involvement in athletics, and encouraged me to think about joining one of their varsity sports...

which i find ironic, seeing as i was most involved in water polo and they dont even offer that sport, lol...but i guess maybe they think i'd go for swimming or something

LOL at least they're trying... they do lose a lot of students to the Ivies, sadly.

I got one about music opportunities. The best thing they can do to really get me to go there is offer me good financial aid. If I do get into an Ivy, I think I might have to go there even though I would rather go to Georgetown because most offer good financial aid.

I got the Mock Trial letter too, it sounds like the same one that other people got.

Yup. Financial aid is key.

word about that

unfortunately, they're tight wads and I do not have high hopes

I'll be the kid with like 200,000 in loans, oiya

oiya or hoya...?

I know what you mean. The letter's nice, but until I get my finaid package, it's meaningless.

def. oiya, as in goooooddddddddddd

didnt get a letter.............. :(

I'm predicting a big fat rejection

I think the letters are only for the accepted EA people... so don't fret! ;)

Thats good to know...I was worried that I wasn't going to receive a letter. I thought this was one of those "likely" letters that some ivies tend to send out.

I should have made the post clearer about the letter; it was EA acceptees and it's Georgetown's way of getting us enroll.

I got another letter yesterday. It was pretty bland, just talking about the school and congratulating me.
