Revisits--Did Going Change or Confirm 1st Impressions?

I went for all of my visits on Saturdays except one, when there were pretty much NO students anywhere. The one I visited on Monday was so fun because everywhere you could see the students. In hindsight I would have to say to anyone looking in the future, go on a school day (and even if they have Saturday classes, go on a weekday). So right now I have the best impression of the one where I actually saw people. if I get in anyplace I am going to need revisits to get an idea of the student life, since that is the big wild card and it is a pretty important one.

following the off topic trend (sorry OP), I’ll add data for those planning travel: the schools we looked at have 2-4 different revisit days spread over the two weeks of March 26 through April 6. None had weekend or Wednesday revisits (Wed often follows the odd sport schedule).

Anyone know St. George’s?

Preface this all by saying I hope we are so lucky to have these choices, but for planning purposes:

For those who have done revisits before, do you think that the order of revisits affects the impressions much? We may do revisits on a Friday followed by a Monday, and I wonder if the Friday school would have an edge, if things go well, just because by Monday, DC’s heart may already ‘be stolen’, so to speak.

Also, the Monday visit, in our case, would be 4/9, and that seems perilously close to the decision day of 4/10. Would it be wiser not to wait until the last minute to see a school on 4/9? If there is a split of family opinion, it doesn’t leave much time before the decision needs to be made. Yes, DC will have the lion’s share of the say, but still, I worry about the added pressures of the clock ticking down.

Yes, we can choose other days, but due to travel that will mean more missed school.

On the rare possibility that I get into more than one school, I wouldn’t even be able to go to revisit days. My class is going to D.C. from March 30-April 4. But I guess I could take a train and meet them in D.C. … wow. That would be complicated! Haha

Taft: 3/29 3/30 4/3 4/5

I’m bumping this thread, as tomorrow many people will be wondering how to make their decision on which school to choose
