Revocation process

Will anyone who has had their admission rescinded by UCSC (or know someone that has) please explain what the revocation process was like? I'm not asking for advice, I'm basically just trying to help myself sleep a little better.

Long story short, I made a few mistakes on my UC application, noticed them immediately and corrected my application back in December. Got accepted and SIR'd to UCSC, but realized a couple of weeks ago that I didn't catch one mistake - I omitted a class I got a B in 8 years ago. I called the office, the guy on the phone was really reassuring - he literally said "stop worrying, there's no way something this small is going to change anything", so I wasn't worried, but he told me to email them a "change of grade" form. Did that, and about a week later I got an email from a senior admissions counselor, asking for an explanation. She told me to send it to her direct email, which I did yesterday morning, and now I'm waiting to hear back.

If anyone else has had to send one of these "letters of explanation", how long did it take you to hear back? If I'm rescinded, will I get an email about it or will I have to get a snail-mail letter? Also, will my admission status change on MyUCSC? As of now, it's still the normal "accepted" page.

Any encouragement (or discouragement, if it's in order) would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know anything about this but I can’t imagine getting a B 8 years ago will have any impact whatsoever, no matter the class. And it is also easy to see how you could forget. From what I have heard from UC students, they all say the university does this as rote - makes you become a basket case while they have a pow-wow, and then nothing changes. I wouldn’t worry - but I’m sure you will.

The only glitch would be - did you send the transcripts from that school? If not, get on it, pay whatever you have to to get it expedited to UC. If it’s a new school, they will probably wonder what other grades might be on it. You might be able to get an unofficial transcript via email to send to them while they await the final.

No it wasn’t a new school, it was one I reported about 60 units at. And yeah, I sent them all last week! But yeah… I’m worried…
