I just got a letter from a school that I’m likely to attend warning that it the school would only finalize my enrolment if I had maintained good grades. My grades have dropped from a low 90s average to low 80s - high 70s. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not this is a real threat to me enrolling, or if its just a reminder to try to work hard.
Depending on the school, they may question why it “appears” you may have checked out. I recall seeing a thread in the past on this subject.
During the 3rd quarter my DD missed more than a week for revisits and an athletic event and one of her grades dipped a couple points. Nothing dramatic though.
Would it be possible to get a link on that thread? Thanks!
I did miss 3 weeks of school straight in late May (brother’s commencement, regional band camp, graduation trip), so maybe that can be a partial excuse haha.
You would have to search on key words as I have no idea where it is. Was this part of a request to forward your final grades? The communication just seems a bit mis-timed. If so, maybe you should reach out to them to avoid freaking out.
Senioritis is usually referred to when someone graduates high school but it is also real with middle schoolers as well. I had to get on top of my daughter when I noticed that she was becoming increasingly relaxed and she is pretty self motivated by nature. . You work hard to get into your chosen high school or college and then once accepted you exhale an relax. The schools want to see that you are consistent. Colleges send that letter also but they usually let you know when accepted that admission is contingent upon your continued academic success in your current school.
In all honesty, as long as you pass and your grades don’t drop tremendously, you’re fine.
