Revoking Admissions

What does it take for the University of Michigan to revoke admissions. I did extremely well first semester this year and got a 4.33 GPA, boosting my GPA from 3.81 to 3.87. It will be very hard to duplicate what I did first semester, in fact this semester I have straight Bs and a 3.4 right now which would lower my final cumulative GPA from a 3.87 to a 3.75. I do plan on getting 2-4 of those B's into A-s and a couple more B+s, its too late to try and got straight A's like a did last semester. Should I be worried at all?

FYI: I am in 3 AP’s, 1 honors, and Spanish 4 and i have not dropped any classes.

Try to bring them up to A’s but I don’t think they will rescind you for that.

i am going to have little opportunities to get back to all A’s. The best i can do now is 4 A-'s and 3 Bs/B+'s

This is extremely helpful: https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/300/~/revoking-admission

Unless you’re seriously tanking, U-M won’t rescind your admission. You need to have a couple D’s or several C’s before you’re in any danger of that. I guarantee you that some people got accepted with 3.4 GPAs, so having that for one semester won’t kill you. If they revoked admissions for what’s happening with you, there would be several hundred of these cases each year, as you’re experiencing something a good amount of students do.

Michigan has posted that you need either 3 C’s, a D, or an F on your final transcript for rescinding admission. That being said, they also reserve the right to rescind it for ANY noticeable downturn in grades. You should be fine, though, given that you’ll have mostly B’s and A’s.

Bs will not be scrutinized. You really have to have bad grades. For example, if your GPA drops from your usual 3.8 to like a 2.8 your senior year, you could be in trouble. But if your second semester grades remain in the B range, you will be fine.
