I was recently accepted into the Brown class of 2014. My grades have always been A’s and are remarkably high. This semester, I have a terribly large load and I might get a B+ in one or two classes for a quarter. Do you think this would cause Brown to revoke my decision? Odds are, I’ll pull my grades up to A’s anyway but I’m wondering just incase.

I don’t think a few B+ grades will warrant a revoked decision. From what I know, those really only go to students that get C, D, and F grades, and even then Brown will ask you to explain the drop. If you have a very good reason, they will probably let you slide anyway. I am sort of in the same boat as you, but I am 99% sure Brown will be ok with it. Just maintain enough academic drive to get reasonably good grades (As and Bs), and you will be fine.

I had the same question! I asked my guidance counselor she said that an admitted student would have to get really bad grades for brown to revoke the acceptance. she said she had never heard of them ever doing it. i also asked the woman who did my interview and she said the same thing. maybe you should ask the girl/guy who did you interview just to get a different perspective?

To update those of you that had the same question as me:

I asked my interviewer, as well. He told me not to sweat it. He said I’d have to start failing multiple classes without even caring to get a revoked decision.

So basically, my grades would have to plummet and I would have to act apathetic when Brown calls to ask me for this to happen.

aren’t the interviewers awesome! mine was so nice and is still so helpful. i still hang out with her even though i got in already. she said she would visit me at brown once I enroll the next time she goes to the east coast. so are you definitely going to brown?

yes, I’ll definitely be attending Brown. I’ve wanted to for years! My interviewer was so amazing. He took me out to dinner to celebrate my acceptance and even bought me a gift! We still stay in contact and he’s extremely personable. I’m so happy to be going to an institution filled with people like this.

You are so lucky! I like my interviewer but I didn’t get a gift or dinner! That’s okay, b/c she is still super nice. I agree - if our interviewers are like all Brown students, that must mean that it is a great place! I am not sure if I am going though. I got in to Stanford, and I like being close to my family, so I think I am going there.
