Is Revolution any good? Are they reliable? I took a mock ACT through them and received a 25 as a soph, however I feel like I did much better. Any prior experiences/knowledge would be appreciated!

Hi there. I’m a junior and I scored a 27/28 (I don’t really remember) and got a 6 (***?) on the essay.

I found it super suspicious because after the first section I got a really bad runny nose and had to leave for the bathroom around 5 times a section (honestly I should have stole a roll of toilet paper or something)

I bsed the essay and used a billion logical fallacies because I wanted to go home and sleep. I thought I was going to get a 20 or something, but I didn’t. Instead of feeling like they rated me too low, I felt it was too high. But I’ve never taken any prep course/ the real ACT so I can’t really say.

On the other hand, my friend took their SAT practice test and got a 1370. The next month, she went to take the real SAT and got a 1940. I know your question is about the ACT, but I felt that I should add that too.

Instead of getting hung up on the score, go over the questions you got wrong. I used to be really hung up on my practice scores, and my friend just said that the official score is what really matters, so I shouldn’t worry too much.

Thanks! Yeah I felt like I should have scored better on the math. I scored a 23 in it because I forgot my basic algebra since I had taken those courses a few years ago. I am very suspicious though because The #1, #8, and #47 (Me) in my graduating class all scored a 25 or below which just does not make sense. All very intelligent honors students as well. After the exam, Revolution sent packets and brochures detailing their prep classes, which only adds to the suspicion.

Our school district is very close to Revolution prep. I scored a 169 on my PSAT as a sophomore so my district invited me to participate in a Revolution PSAT prep class for a reduced price ($50 off, naming me a Superintendent Scholar). I am going to sign up for it, so hopefully then I can tell you if Revolution prep is worth it. I also took a mock ACT with Revolution this year (sophomore year) and received a 26. Honestly, I never knew I would have done that good… I didn’t, however, get a brochure for their prep class.

Yea guys, Revolution Test Prep is not accurate. I took a practice SAT from them and got a 2090. Took it for real and got a 2290. So I really do not think it is that accurate (especially the critical reading for the SAT).

Yeah that’s what I thought.

I did Revolution Prep before I took the SAT for the first time and I had a pretty good instructor, so I think it helped. Ended up scoring a 2150. Honestly, all we ever did was take practice tests and do practice problems. If you are disciplined enough to take practice tests on your own, there really isn’t any reason to sign up for Revolution Prep. If you’re not, then the class definitely helps since it basically forces you to take practice tests.

It mystifies me why you would do a free mock test with a company that you apparently don’t trust when you can go to the official SAT or ACT website and download a real free test.

Here’s the website [Helping People Achieve Education and Workplace Success | ACT](http://www.act.org)

Do the sample problems first starting here [ACT Practice Questions : English Passage 1](<a href=“ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT”>ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT)

and then download the full test with this PDF file.

Good luck

Well, I did not have any prior knowledge when I first took the exam, however afterwards I believe I scored higher than what their results showed.
