Rhetorical Strategies

I'm really bad at spotting non-ethos, logos, pathos. Could someone give me some useful rhetorical strategies that usually come up on the exam? Thanks.

Those are the most common. You definitely need to know them.

Ethos - ethics… how authoritative is somebody (i.e. are they qualified to make the judgments/assertions that they are?).
Pathos - emotions. Think of it as the “PATH to somebody’s heart”. You try to evoke emotion, sentiment, passion.
Logos - LOGic. Stats, figures, facts, etc. Easiest one to remember.

The best way to get better at identifying them is practice reading various passages (perhaps past FRQs) and student responses to them.
