So if a student was invited, does that mean they are admitted, or do they have to wait for the letter?
Very helpful, @rhodeslynx
Can you answer posed earlier: If you have not been invited to the Scholarship Symposium by now, does that mean you wont be invited? Or are those invitations still pending?
Much obliged, and Good Luck to all!
Figured this out for myself. Apparently must wait for the snail.
@smileymads I found this on the Rhodes site: To apply for scholarships…“Submit a complete application for admission and all supporting documents by January 15. All qualified applicants are automatically considered for competitive scholarships. Fellowships may require the submission of a separate application.”
@rhodeslynx Will international students receive their decision through snail mail as well?
S is having trouble connecting to the phone cast. The number Rhodes provided is not working.
Students who have been invited to the Scholarship Symposium are an elite group of high achievers. They have been invited to the Symposium to vie for the top academic scholarships here at Rhodes. If you have not been invited to the Scholarship Symposium, it does not mean that you will not receive a merit based scholarship. We have multiple tiers of scholarship awards, some of those recipients are not invited to the Scholarship Symposium.
We have not yet begun reading Regular Decision applications, and therefore the students who have been invited to the Scholarship Symposium only reflect top scholars who applied under the Early Action deadline. High Achieving students applying under Regular Decision who meet the standards of one of our top scholarships will be invited to the Scholarship Symposium at a later date.
We experienced a bit of a snafu with the number provided for the phone cast last night. We apologize for those of you who unsuccessfully tried to join us. If you still have questions feel free to contact your regional representative. We are all happy to answer any questions you may have. http://www.rhodes.edu/admission/27042.asp
@dancingwriter International students will be notified through an email that is sent out today.
So, rhodeslynx, it sounds like if you applied EA but have not already received a scholarship symposium invite yet for those top tier scholarships, you will not get an invite at all. Correct? (ie, all symposium invites for EA appllicants have been communicated.)
But you may still get a merit scholarship – just not one of the top ones. FMI, will lesser scholarship information be part of the EA acceptance packet that was mailed yesterday, or will that come later?
No problem. S emailed his questions to his admissions counselor.
EA notifications should start hitting mailboxes today.
Good Luck everyone!
Think it will be Monday or Tuesday at our place. Woop!
The envelope has arrived!!
ACCEPTED!!! Oh. My. Gosh. Rhodes has been one of my top choices for the longest time!!!
@dancingwriting Congratulations! We are very happy for you!
