When do RHP applicants get notified if they are accepted/rejected? Is it usually the time when regular USC applicants get their decisions? Thank you.

penny said she'd call me in january.
rhp kids find out when ppl considered for merit scholarships find out
im thinking it will be closer to the end of january rather than the beginning

drums fingers on desk looks at clock
I WANT TO KNOWWWW!!

I've been dying to know since the second I turned my application by hand on November 22, 2006 at 2:38 pm. (okay, i'll be honest, not sure the exact time, but between 2:30 and 3:00).
I'm just curious socks, does RHP admission officers do a holistic approach or put emphasis on SAT/Grades.

hmm im not really sure about their approach. i know that sat/act is pretty important. penny said rhp kids must have test scores and gpas equal or higher to the top 10% of all other freshman applicants. its definitely harder to get into RHP than USC.

that said they really do want responsible mature and interesting kids. kids who do stuff, have special talents, etc etc

what score did you submit to them?

what does RHP mean? collegeconfidential really needs a list of acronyms...

resident honors program. it's a very selective program where students forego their senior year of high school and go directly to USC.

Cue current HS seniors who ask why on earth someone would want to skip their senior year.

why on earth would someone want to skip their senior year?

well for me... i want to be an MD and that takes hella years so i want to start ASAP

plus i hate living at home which i am currently doing

oh man am i nervous for this. where is everybody from that applied this year?

I'm from los angeles

well, out of the USC board, I think socks, me, and zee9449 are only people applying. Tell me if I'm missing anyone. This years application pool looks small, according to my brief chat with Diane talking about last year application pool. Hopefully all of us can get in.
Well reason I'm applying is because I don't like school and I would rather learn history at USC and have better education than learn history at my high school. I mean, cmon! I tried to challenge myself by taking AP history classes but all the teacher ever talks about is "this is what we need to know to pass the exam!"I would rather do deeper into a historical event and learn how it occured because of the past and how it affected the future.

What else to talk about. I'll be extremely honest with you guys. I am VERY nervous right now. Decisions are coming up and my mom gave a call to Diane couple days ago to make sure that everything was there. She just said she sent my application to a committee. I think that means my application is currently being looked at by a committe. I am very happy because just getting considered for RHP is an honor for me.

I think I'm going overboard with the stats, heh. It's Sunday night and I'm waiting for Family guy to come on and I got nothing to do.

Socks, what was your essays about?

edit// Boy what a bummer. I checked the website a second ago and my GPA and SAT scores barely made the minimum. I am praying the admission process is holistic. I seriously want to get out of high school and do research at USC and actually learn.

I can't believe Junior students in high school have these kinds of stats.

did you think that their stats would change from being crappy to impressive when going from a junior to a senior?

symphonyinblack,
well, I'm just briefly looking at thes stats. Those EC's, in the high school I used to attend, did not come by often and if it did, only seniors had that kind of EC's. Sorry if I sounded like a *******.
