RHP People

Those of you who are RHP on this board may want to go over to the college admissions section, which is having a discussion about RHP. They have some questions that I don't have answers to, but you may!

Will do my best.

who did RHP anyways? I'm curious - I just got my acceptance letter(s)...

Congratulations! Are you going to commit or are you still thinking about it?

Probably commit :)

does any1 know how many RHP got accepted versus applied this year??? My stats plain out suck (atleast to my standards) but my essays were good and somehow I got in...apparently very little amount of ppl got in. Also RHPers i have questions for you:
Is thematic option required????
It said I got a scholarship..how much would the lowest scholarship that I could possibly get be worth???
I want to stay at Birnkrant when I go to SC...is that allowed???
If I stay and defer, what are my chances of getting in next year(with and without a scholarship)...USC IS MY DREAM SCHOOL...just Id like to enjoy being a kid for one more year, is that a bad choice???
I plan to either major BIO (Premed) or HP(Health Promotion Disease Prevention) but got rejected from Bac/MD, should I wait and reapply to Bac/MD next year? Thank you for your help

No, but my class ('09) was 25 people. Yes, it is a low percentage of people who get in. Congratulations. TO is not required, but they really want you to do it. Deans Halls is not required, but they really want you to do it. A few RHPers this year are in New/North and Parkside. I think all RHPers have either Presidential or Trustee scholarship. I have no idea what your situation will be like having been accepted to RHP and then applying your senior year again. Evidently, they believe you are ready to skip senior year and go to college early. Do you? I don't think it's worth it to stay in high school just to reapply to Bac/MD; it really isn't that much different from what all other pre-med students are doing.

2 Days after I turned in my application I went through a traumatic event that brought me within 10 minutes of death (long story)...anyways it made me realize that life is too short to not enjoy b/c nothing is granted and you could die any minute...that made me reason that senior year could well possibly be the greatest year of my life and I should enjoy life but still live it to the fullest...I still love USC with all my heart. I reasoned that I can still go to my dream school if I get accepted to USC next year and still enjoy life by stayin in HS, the best of both worlds....I'm still debating this though so your input will be considered. But can I ask you did you have alot of close relationships (I won't judge you) and had ppl that you wanted to stay around for the rest of your life? WOuld you sell all that out for 1 year of your life? Thanks for the advice

get out of high school as soon as you can.

TRUST ME.

sure... senior year is fun... but i am so sick of highschool, and judging by your obviously high level of intelligencce and maturity, you'll be sick of it too!! good job on your acceptance to RHP- my advice is: GO FOR IT.

(by the way... it's not like i'm not involved in school, or like i'm a total loser or anything. i'm senior class president. but.. i'm SO READY TO GRADUATE!!!!)

I had a lot of acquaintances that encouraged me to leave high school and they knew I would have a great time in college. But no, I didn't have super close friends that I just "couldn't leave." I know at least one RHPer who has had to do just that though. You know, sacrificing those relationships to pursue this greater opportunity. You will make great and close friends in college, no doubt about it. You will find people that you want to stay around for the rest of your life. It's just a matter of whether you want to taper your high school relationships a bit sooner than normal. I'm not trying to belittle your friendships...it's just a fact that as high school friends graduate, it becomes harder to maintain those relationships. But you may choose to go through that process as it comes and not choose to go through it a year early.

Where do you live?

I competely agree.... senior year is just dragging on... I just want to get out of high school already and the effects of senioritis are beginning to hit all of us at my school. I cant wait to get out of HS, go to college and let my life begin!!! WOOHOO class of '06!!

i live in Southern Cal...is there a reason why??? Im down at the USC campus everyweek its so fun and I love USC its the ONLY school I will want to go to next year

Where in So Cal? I ask because it's so much easier to visit your friends when you live in the area.

south bay...bout 30 min drive...its not so much that its easy to visit them but just bein with them and senior year is what im afraid to miss...senior year in a social sense definitely not in a educational sense
