<p>Judging by the decrease in posts compared to yesterday, I guess I’m not the only one who got rejected. Continued luck to those who join me and congratulations to those who were accepted. </p>
<p>Would I do the application process over again for Rice U? From this angle in time, I’m not sure.</p>
<p>Out of curiosity, if you were accepted what were your basic stats, intended major, do you plan to accept etc.? I’ll share mine once I’m not writing from a phone. </p>
<p>Also, does anyone know if there is a on campus housing wait list or is there no chance for residential housing for us?</p>

<p>As of now I think I’ll be dropping my UIUC acceptance and taking the Rice offer for Bioengineering. I am so thankful for the financial aid offer. Oddly it is significantly better than my state school…</p>

<p>3.75 GPA, 2180 SAT, international student, study abroad in France and England, very good (in my humble opinion) essay and really good recommendations. I’m still waiting for a couple of schools to give me the decision, but Rice will obviously be among top choices. The Math/Econ program fits me perfectly and I do like the prospect of being at such a small school.</p>

<p>I just wanted to answer a few questions about housing earlier in this thread. </p>
<p>“Just curious, do transfer applicants with a family member who attended (and graduated) from rice give them a perk? Does anyone have a family member who attend rice here?”</p>
<p>I know many people who have family alums. The only “perk” you really get is being able to apply for the same residential college that your family member was placed in. I believe this is in efforts to “carry on tradition”.</p>
<p>“Do international students get preference in terms of on-campus housing? It would be really difficult for us to arrange housing while spending the summer in a foreign country.”</p>
<p>International students do get a level of preference for on-campus housing, but I am not sure if they get top priority. There are priority levels for athletes, international students, and all other freshman but I am unsure who gets priority over whom. As of right now, international transfer students are not guaranteed housing, and I find this completely ridiculous. We are working to fix this!</p>
