So I'm sorry if these usually aren't posted on this board - I've just seen applicant threads on other schools, and figured I'd start bringing a group of us together early!

I'm not applying ED for various reasons, but I'm just finishing up my RD app now. Good luck to everyone!

Applied early…I’m kind of hoping my Valedictorian status will balance out my absolutely horrible ACT score. Really doubting my chances of being accepted…

Just wondering, where’s everyone from? I’m from PA and I swear, nobody I know is applying to Rice. Some of my friends have never even heard of it, oddly enough.

I submitted my score to Rice at midnight on the day they were released, but it’s still not showing up on esther. Am I freaking out too soon? It only took my other scores a day to come in, but it’s already been three. Is anyone else’s official score showing up as recieved on Esther?

I’m an African-born refugee living in Midwest :D. And yeah, the reaction to Rice is usually an awkward pause and then a “cool…” followed by a change of subject or an enthusiastic “oh yeah, it’s a great school…etc.etc.” I find it funny really

Just wanted to say good luck to all applicants here and we hope to see you at Rice next fall. (Well actually we hope to see you in the spring for Owl Days or one of our admit days, but you know.)

PleaseRice - I can’t speak for Rice, as I haven’t applied yet, but for other schools I’ve applied to that use similar systems to Esther, it’s taken anywhere from 1-5 days for my scores to be received after I sent them.

Also college board sends out a high volume of test scores just after the score release from November. I’d give it up to 6-8 business days, then I’d call the admissions office.

I applied ED, and I’m from Dallas (TX). I know that a majority of people don’t really know about Rice, but my cousin (who’s a professor at Emory) and her dad (he’s heavily involved in the upper-academic world) always sing praises whenever I talk about Rice :)
