As Early Decision deadline approaches, it might be nice to start this discussion thread.
Deadline: Nov 1st
Rice is amazing. Good luck to u all!
Moderator moved the thread to the Rice Forum. Good Luck to all applying ED for the Class of 2024!
ED deadline is today at midnight in your time zone. Good Luck to all that are submitting ED applications to Rice. https://admission.rice.edu/apply
Any idea when the first decisions started coming out for 2023?
Last year the ED decisions came out around 12/14. @awesomepolyglot should be able to give you the exact details.
4:00 Central on December 14. I think they emailed that Tuesday to tell us when decisions were coming out.
I would expect decisions to come out on the 13th.
Good luck to you all!
Watch the admissions office’s tweets as well!
I don’t know if this is the right place to put this but I just got notified that I have an in person alumni interview! I am excited but nervous. Has anyone else got notified? What should I expect? any tips?
Exciting!
Be sure to come prepared with reasons why you love Rice AND why you’re interested in whatever field of study AND questions for your interviewer. Practice enough that you have an idea of what you want to say, but don’t worry too much about having stuff memorized. Bring a resumé of your high school activities, etc.
I had kind of an unconventional interview, so if you have any questions, DM me!
@aliceyg017 I bumped up a thread from last year that had lots of information about Rice interviews. Good Luck with your interview!
@Houston1021 thanks. I am going to check it out.
For those that applied early decision, if you haven’t already, make sure you submit your financial aid forms by tomorrow 11/15. Rice includes financial aid packages with its ED acceptance packets.
Typo there, the financial aid deadline for ED is tomorrow 11/15. Best wishes and good luck to all who are applying ED.
Thanks for catching the typo! I fixed it. I join @ricegrad in wishing all ED applicants good luck.
I was recently invited to apply to the Rice/Baylor thing. Would it hurt my chances if I sent in an app for that?
No. Go ahead and apply. You can apply to Rice and to Rice/Baylor at the same time. Rice/Baylor admits only a handful of applicants. Students interested in the MSP may apply to Rice as Early or Regular Decision candidates. Early Decision applicants must commit to Rice by Jan. 1, regardless of the Baylor decision to be made later in the spring. Early Decision applicants to Rice must submit all Rice application materials by Nov. 1; however, the Rice/Baylor application does not have to be submitted until Dec. 1. https://admission.rice.edu/apply/freshman/ricebaylor-medical-scholars
Please put all 2024 ED updates/questions/comments in this thread.
Any idea when will the decisions be out?
@CountryBoy2 Look upthread
Good luck everyone!
