Rice Arhictecture

Hey guys, so my friend is applying for the architecture program at Rice. However, I heard they only take 25 people..

So, I was wondering if anyone knows how many people actually apply for the program.

Thanks,
Selter

PS. Architecture ** misspelled the topic

I don’t know. I do know that they are conservative in their offers of acceptance since they don’t want to over-enroll the program. Consequently, they took two archi students off the waitlist this year. I believe those were the only waitlist acceptances this year for Rice U undergrads.

It is true there are only 25 students per year. It is one of the smaller well regarded programs. Applications are many, I don’t remeber now what the figure is, but the acceptance % I recall is in the teens.
A strong portfolio is important, strong grades/scores are important, also important is a familiarity with the field of architecture as demonstrated by school classes or summer classes, or work experience/internships.

If acceptance % is in the teens, then that means only about 125~250 people apply. that’s not a lot.

Well, you also need to know the yield rate, as I’m sure they accept more than 25 students.
