Rice bioengineering to medical school

Hi everyone! I was recently admitted to Rice, and I have until May 5th to tell them whether I want to join. I plan on studying bioengineering (or any engineering major) and then going to medical school. How is Rice's bioengineering engineering program? Is it ideal for a pre-med, or is it too difficult to maintain a good (medical school worthy) gpa? Will students have time to study for the MCAT? Rice claims that their medical school admit rate is virtually 100%. How accurate is this number? Do they weed out several students with the difficulty in the program? Do the students that leave medical school aspirations do so because of gpa damage or other interests? Also, if I do not get into medical school, are there job options available with just a bachelor's degree from Rice bioengineering?

Thank you so much for helping me!!!

I am in the exact same situation!!!

I am a rice bioengineering student. I apologize that I don’t have the time to give a better response, but there are plenty pre-med bioes at Rice. In fact, I know one who has a 4.3 gpa. Bioengineering at Rice is well-ranked, and most graduates settle into good jobs with just a BS. Most students study for the MCAT over the summer. People drop pre-med aspirations for varied reasons - I don’t think it is something that is necessarily indicative of anything on Rice’s end.
