Rice Dance Theatre vs. Rice Dance Team

<p>I know that it is kind of unfair to compare these two dance teams, mainly because they both serve different purposes, but I am still curious about these dance teams. I have been on the website for both of these teams and read about what they do, but I still don't think that I know enough about them to decide which one I should try out for (I'm an incoming freshman). I've seen the performances of the Rice Dance Theatre on youtube, and I really liked what I saw. But for the Rice Dance Team, I have hardly seen any information on them, other than the fact that they perform hip-hop and jazz routines at the football and basketball games.</p>

<p>I have spoken to some students about the Rice Dance Team, and many of them seemed to have a negative perception of them. I just want to get my facts straight before I decide which team I should try out for.</p>

<p>I was wondering if any of you all who have been to the football, basketball games, or know someone who is/was part of the Rice Dance Team can tell me about the quality of the Rice Dance Team or of their performances? Thanks in advance!!</p>

<p>I've seen the Rice dance team performe at games...they are decent...i guess it depends on what you like more...to cheer and pep up the students...or if you like more of a theatre/drama scene. There are also some girls who do both...I'm not really sure of practice and how much time either requires.</p>
