What sort of things do Rice dorm rooms come with, and what is the size of these things (desks, bookshelf, etc.). Also, how much space do you get to put your own furniture.
Thanks!

It depends on your room a lot. They come in varied sizes based on the building.

Standard furniture is:
- Twin XL Bed - 3.25’ x 6.66’ (Unit can be lofted to put stuff/desk underneath)
- Wardrobe - 3’ x 2’
- Desk - 4 ’ x 2’ (Comes in two configurations depending on building. 1 has the desk with drawers on the side. Two is the same size, but the drawer section is detachable so you can either make a 4x2 desk or a smaller desk and nightstand)
- Drawers - 3’x 2’ (Fits flush with the desk to make an extension)
- Chair - - Standard size

Let me know what college you will be in and I can post a floorplan of your rooms.

Thanks for the details, I too wanted to know what we have to work with when purchasing our accessories!

Many of the college websites have floor plans posted online, ex. here’s Martel’s - [Room Information | Martel College](Suites at Martel – Martel College).

Twin comforter or full/queen? My daughter likes her full because she can have it hang down and cover the things under her semi- lofted bed. I’m positive my son will not care to be that neat, but what fits better?

Twin XL fits just fine. I think a full/queen will achieve the purpose you detailed though.
