I love Dartmouth, but I have been offered the Trustee Distinguished and Century Scholar prof mentored research scholarships at Rice. Those cover about 2/3rds of the total cost, but the research and other opportunities offered are also exciting. I think I want to study biology, biomedical, etc., and go to medical school. Any advice? I will be going to OWl Day and Dimensions.

Would you be paying full fare at Dartmouth? That’s a consideration, especially if you’re thinking of med school, which – I hear – comes at a considerable cost.

yes, I have no financial aid at Dartmouth as my parents won’t qualify. How is the undergraduate bio/biomedical reserach program at Dartmouth? I understand Rice’s is good, and the question becomes is that what I want to do in undergraduate school.

Since you’re med school focused, the Rice deal sound too good to pass up.

Though I love D, I have to agree with Hmom5 – the Rice offer is extremely compelling. Save your money for medical school.

Agree, agree, agree.

If money weren’t a consideration, I’d choose Dartmouth, but you will have considerable expense going to med school. Save your money for that. You’ll have a fantastic time at Rice.
