This is really weird.

At Dartmouth the overall acceptance rate is like 14 percent but their ed acceptance rate is 26 %.

at rice their overall acceptance rate is like 23% but their ed acceptance rate is 27.8 %.

Itseems like applying ed doesn't help as much at Rice as it does at Dartmouth. Wy is that?

maybe fewer people choose Dartmouth for ED and there's a lot for RD (more than Rice?)

A couple of years ago, I saw a list of the schools ranking the ED admit rates versus RD admit rates to inform applicants of their chances. Some schools prefer to fill a large portion of each class with ED admits. I believe that Columbia's ED admit rate is substantially higher than the RD admit rate. Other schools use ED I & ED II to catch those who may have been denied by elite EA schools. I don't know Rice's policy, but they may be waiting for applicants denied ED & EA to Ivies, Stanford & other elites.

Oh!! That's why there's EDII and it's usually due on 1/15...

What's the point of ED II? you find out the exact same time as regular, and I haven't heard anything about it improving your FinAid or chance of acceptance.

I know that for Emory's EDII, they find out earlier on Feb 15. It wouldnt make sense to enter into a binding agreement when a non-binding one is available.

hey i was just admitted under ED,anyone else also admitted here?
