@quillie No nead to send the sat because the ACT score is much better. My son did not send his sat II and sent the ACT he had around the same score and was not happy with the physics score so he did not send. It says you will not be penalized if you don’t so unless they are high I believe it is not necessary. Also is there a chance you can get the eagle scout still? My son thought it helped. My son also got in with two “b” and was admitted. Try to see where you’d fit in at Rice as you do your essays. Check out the websight to see the activities offered. It is important also to show interest and they do check. My son also did an interview. I know in Maine not a lot apply so that may have helped for him. They may have some things going on in california that he can do to show interest. I know they came to Maine last year. There is also a facebook group you could join and a group me where you can get to know the students. See if it the place for you. It looks like you got a good shot, but of course it is hard to tell because it is subjective.
Unfortunately I’m not an eagle scout, but I devoted a lot of time into Boy Scouts as a patrol leader. Thanks for your advice on which scores to send! I’ll definitely try to write a good supplemental for Rice.
