Rice ED

I just visited Rice two days ago, and I must say it is the most spectacular school I have ever been to. I had heard good things about the environment there and also the quality of education, especially for the price, but no one mentioned that the campus was so beautiful. The college system was also amazing and a gread idea, and I am basically completely sold on Rice.

One question I didn't get answered was about finding jobs after Rice. GA Tech spent a good section of the info section bragging about co-op programs, internships, and ways to get jobs later, but none of this was mentioned at Rice. Do they have nothing to brag about, or is it just something that just usually isn't brought up?

So I know how competitive it is, and as of now it is my first choice for college. How much of an advantage is it to apply to Rice ED? I would like to do it, but my parents don't seem too sold on the idea since there are many other colleges I will be applying to. And Interim Decision was mentioned, but I don't really understand what it was. Is it non-binding? Stats as of now are:

Private School in Cincinnati, unreported ethnicity
SAT 700M/660CR/630W/10E (Will be retaking, I expected an 800M)
GPA 4.259W, 3.99UW
9 total HS APs, 3 classes next year post-secondary at UCincinnati
ECs - 4yr soccer (Jv captain, state finalist team), Mu Alpha Theta math society (President 1 yr), Math competititon team (co-captain 1 yr), Spanish club, MLK Dream Club (founder)
Will hopefully double-major ME and Pol. Science

Thanks CCers

Don't have loads of time to make any deep comments right now, but search on the Rice Website for "Career Services." Their website may help answer some of your questions about life after Rice.

Interim decision is NON-BINDING (I'm emphasizing that for you and everyone else who seems very confused on this issue). There are higher acceptance rates for ED and ID compared to regular, but i think the difference between ED and ID are pretty small.
