Rice Fall 2010 Transfer

I'm applying to Rice because it has good medical school placements, although I'm not too crazy about R being in TX. Gather hither, applicants!

My Stats: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/860798-wellesley-fall-2010-transfer.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/860798-wellesley-fall-2010-transfer.html</a></p>

You better have other reasons why you are applying to Rice as a transfer besides good medical school placements. If you really want to go to med school, you can get there no matter what college you go to. Just keep a high GPA, get high MCAT scores, and have excellent extracurriculars/volunteer experience.

Now if the residential college system, the chill student body (although some students can be somewhat weird and nerdy… but I’ll take this any day over some of the arrogant students at peer institutions), and the intimate community at Rice excites you, then by all means, apply!

By the way, as a northerner myself, Texas is AWESOME! However, I do wish it wasn’t so flat and less people drove trucks.

What can you add for a potential transfer student, slik nik? I’d like to try to transfer as an engineering student. The residential college system and smaller school appeals to me. I actually attend a school with an RCS now, but students are mostly on their own [by their own choice and the surrounding environment]. There’s just too much emphasis on partying where I am, and I want to be around more serious students. My GPA is 3.88, I have a demonstrated interest in math and science, and I would love to be part of your scatter band.
