<p>actually madamebovary, not withdrawing is an offense to your contract and you can be kicked out of the ED SCHOOL TOO</p>

<p>I agree with Antarius. It's just not right to not withdraw your app if you already have a firm place else where. I'd rather give others a better chance of getting in.</p>
<p>How do you withdraw an application? I've been trying to figure it out for a while... do I just have to call the school? On application websites and admissions pages, I don't see anything about withdrawing.</p>

<p>Its not just unfair to other students..., ocasionally if they were to swap admission lists, then your ED school can kick you out too.. (has happenned bfre)</p>
<p>if you're smart enough to get in somewhere selective Early Decision then dont be stupid and breach a binding agreement just to get an additional trophy that doesn't even matter in the long run. and plus as said before it could potentialy hurt the chances of someone who really wants to get accepted to Rice and has not received any such assurances from any other college yet.</p>
<p>^ that was a general comment to any ppl thinking of doing that btw, i'm sure jimmy already knows what to do ;) haha</p>
<p>I sent them a fax stating my intention to withdraw. It includes some key verification info like my full name, birth date, Application Reference #, email, school name, home address, etc to just make sure it's not someone else faking it. </p>
<p>Oh yeah, just to comfort them, I also put down that I'd really love to attend Rice for grad school in the near future:)</p>
