"best in class," "top in class", "excellent." i'm from south asia originally too and seriously, do they teach any humility or modesty over there cuz it doesn't seem like it. every indian i meet has this cocky demeanor and believes he or she is the world's super human force of life. honestly, you may be awesome at math and informatics or whatever else, but theres a thing called being humble that has just as much to do with success. i would recommend learning it.</p>

Not all Asians are as cocky as you make it to be. I am Indian, and I take offense to that statement. When you get to college you're gonna be surrounded by Asians, cocky or not (and most aren't). But, if you go to school with that conception people are going to be turned off by you.</p>

I'm asian too, and i am well aware that i will be surrounded by asians in college- but it doesn't bother you at all that so many of our people are overly full of themselves to the point of narcissism? THe other day i went to my local university library and everywhere i turned there were indians arguing about pretty much who was the best. Seriously- not only is that an embarrassment but this incident interfered severely with others' studying. we need change and history seems to prove more outspoken methods of change work best.</p>

Many of my class mates have applied to Rice and my post was to have a fair comparision amoung us.A lot of them have better SAT & AP score than me.
I just happend to have the best grades and recos in the school as told by my councilor.SO relax and focus on getting admitted. We could end up as best friends at RICE... hope so.</p>
