Okay, I'm accepted Stanford EA, so I'm 'safe'. But I get no fin aid. So I was wondering how much Rice offers for National Merit. I've gotten a fair amount of letters concerning National Merit Finalist money but I've received no notice from Rice and it was 1st choice on my National Merit.

So I'm basically going to Stanford unless Rice offers me a lot of money. Does anyone know how much Rice gives? Like full, half, quarter amount scholarships? Or just the 2.5k amount?

*just a note, I did not get a likely letter. I don't know if the amount they offer varies with how much the want a student

well, national merit, according to the rice website, is $1000/yr.

and here's what they say on their website: Rice University | Prospective Students

yeah there's really not much guaranteed money for national merit at rice (vandy on the other hand...)
even with Stanford's new policy you didn't get any money? care to share why your income is (approximately)? it must be over 150k
congrats on Stanford! it makes me feel better that someone good enough for stanford didn't get a likey from rice. maybe LL's are geared towards minorities?

yeah over 150k. I mean, I'm not terribly needy, but some money is nice ^^' tuition full on is no pocket change.

thanks. I'm so grateful I'm in. I'm asian, I dunno it that's minority.

Rice is cheaper than Stanford, especially if you get no merit aid or financial aid from either.
