Rice or Berkeley?

I got in both. Rice Engineering or Berkeley Math?
No definite career plan though, but definitly relates to Computer/Math.
Any recommondations?
Pro/Cons for both universities?

UG @ Rice is better, but Berkeley is acdemically stronger. that's what I heard.

I found it interesting that many on the Cal version of this post suggested Rice!

Is there a difference for you financially?

Have you visited? I had been set on Berkeley because I wanted to go to the west coast and because I wasn’t receiving financial aid from either institution (international student from Maryland…) But when I went to see the campus, I felt so small. The campus is big; there’s thousands of people… Rice is much more personal and actually emphasizes their community. Berkeley has a stronger alumni network, and as someone partially considering business, that did tempt me a LOT. Rice’s is growing, however, and ultimately I knew I would get a better education here.

no financial issue at all - I’m an international student, so the costs for both of them are pretty much the same:: around 50k. Berkeley cost a little bit more though. And never visited as well. I’m afraid if I cann’t get enough internship chances since Rice is in Tx and Berkeley is , obviously, near silicon valley. And my major will be computer/math. You know what I mean…

You will be able to get jobs and internships from Rice. A lot of people seem to end up at Microsoft, Google, Texas Instruments and others. Rice has a more intimate and in my opinion, better undergraduate experience. Cal does have a bigger and stronger alumni base though.
