Hello.
I'm new to this forum and I was accepted to Rice and Berkeley as a junior transfer. I need help in deciding which school I should attend for upcoming fall. I live in California and will be majoring in Biochemistry.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks.

rice tastes better than barley

^^ Sounds good to me?

I'd go to Rice? More of a chance to feel at home and to actually integrate into a college atmosphere where at berkeley you'd probably have to do a bit more. What are you majoring in? Do you want competition? Rice is incredibly laid back though...

same predicament, different school - Rice or Georgetown?

Berkeley for sure. Great for sciences.

Rice is amazing. I would definitely go to Rice over Berkeley.

Are you in-state for Berkeley? If so, and money is a factor, then definitely go to Berk. Can't go wrong with the #1 public school in the country.

are you transfering from a ccc? if so thats cool

Rice is anything but laid back. A huge portion of the kids are premed (with the Houston Med Ctr nearby) and they are all merit scholars to begin with. The size & residential system will make Rice easier to integrate in socially but then Berkeley is an incredible school as well with better weather & less distance to travel.

berk no doubt
don't leave us fellow CA'er!
