Rice ppl

i got the package in the mail today, they want ppl to accept/decline offer of admission by May 15th

that is 2 weeks away??>>>>

How much is the deposit?

Mine package got sent home, not to my current school, but my Dad said a $100 deposit is due by May 15th.

2 weeks seems like a pretty standard time Universities give transfer students to make decisions. I got into Wash U as well and they only gave me 2 weeks to decide.

Are you guys going on the waitlist for on-campus housing, or just resigning yourself to off-campus housing? Anybody know what kind of chances we have for on-campus housing?

senheiser, wat did u do w. wash u, did u send in a deposit or something??

yeah, i sent in the deposit to washu, and i'll send in the deposit for rice as well.

my hierarchy of schools made this process very expensive:

Berkeley Engineering>Rice>Wash U

I unfortunately received decisions in the opposite order of my hierarchy. I wanted to guarantee myself an engineering school, and I had to reply to Wash U by April 28, so I sent in the deposit. I then heard from Rice, and they want a deposit by May 15. I’ll have to send that in b/c I’d rather go to Rice than Wash U, and I won’t find out about Berkeley until late May (I’m enrolled in Berkeley Letters and Sciences; I have to apply to the Berkeley engineering school in order to be enrolled).

I might send in a deposit just to keep my spot.

i might do the same....but i feel bad about doin that.....

The acceptance package is so pretty, though I heard the UChicago one is even prettier:D

for rice, my mom said, the acceptance letter was very bland, like, we have approved your application

last year, I got Chicago's, it was HUGE, like it had all of these papers, it was a work of an art, i have no idea what the transfer one is like

Yeah, the actual letter was rather nondescript. Oh well. I like the folder with the engraved academic seall!

The Georgetown acceptance packet was not as good, though the letter was somewhat more endearing.

I like how Rice is still updating my financial aid page despite the fact that they have already rejected me. Ha.
