Overall–Your GPA is average, your SAT II’s are average, your EC’s seem OK. </p>

<p>Despite scores, I think a lot of people forget that your personal statement plays a tremendous role in your admission.</p>

<p>Good luck. I would say your changes are average, not high.</p>

<p>Just for your referece, I would like to post my stats to those who applied. But before I do that, I would just like to say that I am in no way trying to boast (my stats aren’t that good anyway) or discourage anyone from applying to Rice. So here it is:</p>

<p>SAT - CR 630 Math 790 Writing 750 (12)
SAT Subject Tests - Math (Level 2) 800 Physics 750
Junior year average- 93.5%/100%
Leadership EC - Church Orchestra concertmaster
Other ECs - Went to Tijuana, Mexico to provide relief to those in need [drug war season]
…and a whole bunch of other things that I’m too lazy to list…haha.</p>

<p>The factors that played the biggest role in my application, in my opinion, are my essays (common app + supplement). I talked about one of my childhood experiences that affected my life forever (will not go into detail).</p>

<p>But yeah,the essay,not so much my school grades or my SAT scores (IMO)</p>
