^That’s why you were waitlisted. You are clearly qualified.

^^
To put it simply, interviewers don’t know sh**. I hate it when I hear people say that their interviewer said they were a shoo-in, because there is literally no possible way that the interviewer could know anything related to the actual admissions process. All they do is send in a report of dubious importance to the admissions committee.

Also, this bitter, overqualified talk going on is unnecessary.

I’m with you collegefan. My friend’s brother was waitlisted by Rice and accepted to Stanford…and I know he isn’t the only one in that situation. I am trying to keep my head held high and try to be optimistic for Thursday! I was a little shocked that I was waitlisted too!

I love Rice and I still can’t believe I got accepted! I never believed that I could get into my dream school! I haven’t heard from financial aid yet, because my dad still hasn’t signed his darn FAFSA haha! I’ll post what I get when I find out! I hope it’s a lot, we only make 24 000 a year.

The term “overqualified” is a myth, IMO.

Also, as bittersweet as it is, I’m tired of people considering waitlist decisions bad! You were waitlisted for a reason. Hardly anyone is waitlisted - it means you were one of the top applicants! Rice’s waitlist decision letter wasn’t very flattering, most other universities try to boost your ego a little bit more in their letters. Since Rice didn’t, I’m here to do that for you. ;)

D is in with Trustee Scholarship!

^Congrats!!

Rejected.

I can’t believe I’m flat out rejected at Rice because I got into Wash U & Notre Dame… but then I’m kinda not shocked because I live in Texas.

@CalciumRich Congrats!! I think with your income level (mines is similar to that. I was waitlisted though) it will be a full ride because they meet 100% of your need and your EFC should be zero.

Accepted! I’ll be attending Wash U though… So, good luck to all you on the Waitlist!

We were kind of surprised - DS was waitlisted. He’s been accepted to Wash U and Amherst. He would have preferred Rice. Oh, well, time to move on. The letter said Rice will have moved people off of waitlist by JULY 1. Wow, that’s late. I don’t think we can wait that long.

You basically have to send in your deposit at another school and just forfeit that deposit if you get accepted by a school that you were waitlisted at.

Accepted, no scholarship (applied as intl, no need-based aid).
The email arrived like a minute after I decided to turn in for the night. I saw it just now when I woke up to finish my homework. I guess being a slacker pays off

DD was accepted, no scholarship. (Was wait listed at WUSTL.) Rice is not her dream and she’ll probably go elsewhere. Good luck to all!

Those of you who were accepted might find this link on the Rice admissions page useful:[Rice University | Undergraduate Admission: Admitted Students](http://www.futureowls.rice.edu/futureowls/admitted_students.asp).

Thanks slik nik. That’s really helpful.

waitlisted at WUSTL, accepted with Trustee (:

Hi,everyone! Congratz on your acceptances! Does anyone know whether Rice use FedEx to send intl admitted students their admission packet?

yeah, I am an intel and I got in by ED, they Fedex me several days later.

^ Thank you, popy!=)
