It says on the status check website that I have a scholarship. But only the amount for 2009 Fall and 2010 Spring are listed. Does that mean I can only get the scholarship for this coming academic year?

The scholarship website says it's renewable by the way.

I had the same question… I have sent an email to the Financial Aid office. However, on the scholarships website, it says the scholarships are renewable, so I am assuming they are. They probably only listed the scholarship for 09-10 school year because the amount might change if there is a tuition rise the following year; Emory listed their financial aid/scholarships in a similar way as well.

Your letter will come in the mail with all of the details. Read it carefully so you understand the requirements and what is and is not promised. DD has found that there was no year over year increase even though tuition and expenses have gone up 5% or so each year. Make sure you consider everything. .

Thanks, singersmom. I was asking on behalf of my son. You make a good point about fully understanding the awards. For example, I didn’t realize until looking at this thread that the Century award is for 2 years only. I assume that all of those details will be laid out in the letter, once we get it.
It would be nice to see tuition frozen for the 4 year period, wouldn’t it?

They used to freeze the tuition or at least make smaller increases for current students but stopped it the year or year before DD started There are still some on the old plan. You can see it on the tuition and fees web site.

Now everyone gets the same tuition if they were not grandfathered into the old plan. .

There are some merit awards and scholarships available through some departments for continuing students - but I don’t believe there are a lot. There are, however, other opps - for example, DD received essentially a fellowship one year, and a cash award at graduation, and a post-graduation award of $12,000 to be used for travel and study.
