@planner03 It appears like some ppl who applied early last year still did not receive a decision even into the first week of September. Are you a parent of student that applied? What state are y’all from?
@MaybeHarvard2022 Yes, that is why I said trickling out…hopefully they will do better this year. My S applied and we are from NY.
@planner03 Has he applied/gotten in to any other fly in programs?
I got in!!!
got a rejection! congrats to all who made it - fingers crossed for grinnell or rpi still!
I’ve been accepted to this fly-in program, but i don’t think I’ll be attending as it conflicts with another fly-in program I have already ordered plane tickets for
Has anyone else heard back?
Rejected… Most likely since I’m from the Houston area so I didnt expect much. Congrats to those who were accepted!
@MrFlyIn was it the WashU one?I didn’t accept that one yet because I was praying I got into this one and Thank God I waited. And Best Wishes @MaybeHarvard2022 @edgeofbarstow
My daughter didn’t get in either.
@nrrviva It was MIT’s WISE program. Although I appreciate RICE and the city of Houston, it’s nothing more than a 4hr drive so I can visit anytime. Please share your experience after the SOAR program if you don’t mind.
@nrrviva Thank you, I applied to 13 fly in programs and so far have gotten into Williams, Swarthmore, WashU, and Washington & Lee so this one didnt hurt so bad. I live 30 min from campus so I can visit anytime.
To all that didn’t get in yet (notice how I say “yet”): trust me when i say space WILL open up when people like myself are unable to attend. @pcmom1 @MaybeHarvard2022 @edgeofbarstow
I got into SOAR as well!
@MaybeHarvard2022 He has only applied to WashU, MIT, Harvey Mudd, and Rice so far. He did not get into MIT WISE, but he went to MITES so I don’t know if he had much of a chance? He got a yes from SOAR today.
@planner03 Does Rice SOAR help with admission to the school? I know fly-ins like Williams certainly do, but is the same true for Rice?
@juan03233 I have no knowledge of the program, but I did find this in an old thread:
I think that admissions chances are really high for any fly-in as they are making an investment in the participants.
I got in today.
@planner03 How many people attend?
I got in today!!!
