<p>I'm also debating whether I should follow through and apply for Fall 07. I've already sent them some stuff, but considering my HS stats (gpa & SAT) were borderline and my college GPA is only 3.7, I think it may be a waste of time.</p>
<p>I am applying for Fall 07. My info. Home NE US. Presently, freshmen @ University of Houston. WF, science major, 4.0 1st semester on 14 credit hours, SAT I - 2360.</p>
<p>different_steps, I see you are not from Texas but are attending the U of Houston. Do they have a special relationship with Rice or does Rice have a certain level of familiarity with them that facilitates transferring from there?</p>
<p>They do have a relationship whereby a student can take courses at either college. However, there is no special "familiarity" that would give anyone a "leg up" on transferring as far as I know. Having said that, I am sure though that Rice knows more about the courses a prospective transfer applicant is offering vs any other college, being so close and all.</p>
<p>i applied to rice for transfer as a junior from UW-Madison w/ GPA of 3.9... i just got my login ID and PIN so i can check the status of my app, but i think it will still be a while until a decision is made, right????</p>
<p>According to Rice's website, transfer decisions won't be out until May 15. </p>
<p>Rice is now reviewing transfer applicants. Perhaps we hopefuls might hear earlier then May 15th?</p>

<p>I called the admissions office! The receptionist told me after she couldn't tell me my decision early. I guess it was out of consolation.</p>

<p>I thought they stated specifically that they wouldn't release decisions until the 15th? Hmmm... does this mean they got substantially fewer candidates than they were assuming? Which could be a good thing for the mediocre applicants such as myself =P</p>
<p>Last year they released decisions around this time as well, I think on the 28th.</p>

<p>My reasons for not applying are not specific to Rice. I have not and will not apply to any schools this year. Might try next year though.</p>
