<p>Okay, let me clear up this vision claim. There was no official announcement of March 20…don’t know who came up with that. </p>
<p>In a less-official setting, it was stated that a March 20-22 date was being targeted, barring some incident. </p>
<p>I hope that clears up misunderstandings</p>
<p>You know, we should convince ourselves that it will come out on the 1st. Then if it comes before then, it will be early and we will be happy. =)</p>

<p>oookay. It seemed like there was an official announcement at Vision. In this case, I’m betting the release is Friday, which is close enough to that range.</p>

<p>I basically wanted to cry all day today because I was nervous…time to wait till friday to cry.</p>
<p>Wouldn’t it be better to just stop freaking out about when these notifications are coming? Better to receive an email and a wonderful surprise than psych oneself out. And if it doesn’t pan out, at least you didn’t build it up with ridiculous suspense beforehand. Cool heels, everyone. It’s not like they won’t show up. They’re gonna be posted, and it’ll be sooner than ya know it.</p>
<p>I totally agree, jeckert! There’s no point in worrying about it at this point in the game; admissions has already made their decisions, and it’s not like we can reverse them now. I suggest that everyone should just relax and focus on making to the end of the school year, or at least the end of the next week and a half!</p>

<p>First…Good Luck to all of you! My D is a freshmen this year and LOVES Rice!</p>
<p>Now…and this is totally UNscientific…it seemed as though most of the schools that D applied to last year sent their emails out on a Friday (yes March 25th was a Friday last year). </p>
<p>We believed that it was so that the admissions office would be closed for 2 days so no one could call and ask the millions of questions everyone has when they receive their decision; and hopefully many people would find their answers online before Monday morning.</p>
<p>Like I said, there is absolutely NO first hand knowledge from admissions about this, just that all of D’s notifications were sent on Fridays or the weekend.</p>
<p>Rice has a 4 day weekend this week due to midterm recess… Not sure if the admissions office is also closed. If so, don’t expect anything on Thursday or Friday.</p>

Well even if the admission office is closed, they can set the automated system to send out the e-mails. Can’t they?</p>
<p>Yeah, they probably can. They may do that, I really don’t know. Just something to keep in mind. They also could send it out tonight.</p>
<p>As I said, probably wasn’t coming out yesterday. The admissions office didn’t say anything about a release date earlier than April 1st, so they didn’t give false information or anything. The March 20th release date rumor was simply a rumor. It’s okay though, guys, just relax and enjoy life and the email will come when it does.</p>
